PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

Honouring Community Vision with N’Quatqua Social Housing Society

Steyer Consulting led a groundbreaking 10-unit affordable housing project for N’Quatqua First Nation—the community’s first new housing in over 15 years, and one of BC Housing’s first on-reserve builds. The project delivered high-quality, energy-efficient homes for Elders, families, and single residents, using accessible designs and prefabricated construction to meet the community’s diverse needs and bring their vision to life.

Steyer Consulting acted as the Nation’s representative (“owner’s rep”), managing everything from funding to final delivery. The project moved from concept to occupancy in just two years, despite the challenges of a remote location, complex provincial and federal requirements, extreme weather, and a global pandemic.

This success was built on years of careful planning. Since 2015, Matt has worked alongside N’Quatqua to develop a comprehensive community plan, land use plan, and housing plan—laying the foundation for long-term, community-driven development.

These efforts highlight Steyer Consulting’s deep expertise and commitment to excellence in community planning through trusted, long-term partnerships.
